A relative is offering some free acoustic paneling to me, but I haven't recorded anything since before the pandemic and I doubt I'm going to any time in the near future. I have nowhere to store them so I'd have to install them if I take them. The relative is moving in a couple weeks and will sell them if I don't take them. Not sure what to do.

So um, gc’s site had a Conklin groove tools 7 string bass for half of where everyone on reverb and elbay are asking so I ordered it.. my drummer is encouraging me to go with an idea I have that would make it end up in chank’s hackjob thread
like making it into a headless v or whatnot.. we will see…

Innnnnnnn
first new pedal in yoinks - straight from the heart and mind of the one, the only, Pepe:

What is?
Is improved, shrunken version of my long lost Seppuku Dynamic Echo Modulator
When I had my Seppuku, I was fairly cretinous in my approach to it - I just set it for medium long float toanz with fairly light modulation and let my daze phaze through the spacewaze haze. I honestly never changed that setting the entire time, and I was uncomplicatedly happy with its ginormous asteroid artifact look and that one weird trick.
Well, dag, was I missing out.
When Pepe let me know he was doing a lickle run of these I jumped in right quick, and sat back and enjoyed as he kept me updated on every step of the build, including what must have been serious frustrations for him from squirrely suppliers and funky parts. All along the way he was feeding me little tidbits that made me realize there was a lot more there than I had thought previously.... Why wasn't I interested in the possibilities of the feedback loop insert? Why didn't I even bother to check out the awesome warble and spike in the short delay time ranges, let alone the clicking, popping radioactive dust cloud transmissions from the restaurant at the end of the universe available with pegged delay times? Was I really that opaque? That milquetoast? Yes, I've since gotten to know more than a few devices that rely on PT2399 torture to flay the unconcious mind, but I didn't think that I had been so naive, and...tan-pantsed about my delays. Perhaps I was hypmotized by the "just pulled from under a pile of power converters at Tosche Station" look of the thing and felt duty bound to only use it in pursuit of the aural equivalent of red shift?
Whatevs - with a some help from Pepe (and a sideways assist from lordgalvar) mine eyes have been opened, and I'm getting parsecs more mileage from this new new Dynamic Echo Modulator than I ever got from the OG artifact. It would have been enough to say, "Here at the end of the process, I've got a fully trouble-shot, bullet-proof build of something that in it's original incarnation was a box full of bits and pieces from a mechanical magpie's cast-off wirenests (well, at least by the looks of it) and was destined for a slow, wonky death." Indeed.
The sound is all there, even the sound I never did hear, and my enhanced utilization is all pure sky. Bonus!
Thanks, Pepe!!!!

So gorgeous
I bought a boring Boss OC5 and, well, it rules. That and the Fuzzhugger Euphonia which is such a good bass fuzz. Synthy to ripping. Had a jam about with some buddies last weekend and it really pushes through and just “sits” well with everything - the mix, being pushed by other pedals, pushing other pedals, playing with volume and tone controls - it’s fantastic. I have a TL806 style cab coming I need to finish for my YBA1A for mixed guitar and bass use. I have amassed so many pedals and I want to sell some to buy different cymbals for a little recording session where I’ll be playing drums, but I also want something like an analog rytm for just me, but I also love the blanket of knobs I have…shit guys. I don’t even know anymore. ROLLING THROUGH Y’KNOW.

My main concern is why didn't Pepe ask me, the unofficial granddaddy of Seppuku, if I wanted one. Did not know this was a thing until now. The belated FOMO is real :')
Nice writeup for sure!

What was it with the "Zen" attitude and selling almost all of your Seppuku pedals? I didn't have you on my radar because of that.UglyCasanova wrote:My main concern is why didn't Pepe ask me, the unofficial granddaddy of Seppuku, if I wanted one. If you really want one, send me a PM. But I don't have the time to do one in the next few months.
