My cheap Joyo ebow rip-off arrived today. It appears to do the thing when I set it on the lap steel, so I'm happy, though I expect there'll be some experiments coming up in seeing how far I can downtune the strings before they get too slack to sustain — or I may possibly get something early in my chain to push things down an octave.

I was also wondering about that Joyo ebow, but then I found an original Ebow for 40$ :!!!:

I absolutely don't need it at all and have no interest in buying it, but the Eldritch Blast looks very very very cool.

I absolutely don't need it at all but my interest has been tantalized, titillated, galvanized and provoked. Is it obvious I discovered thesaurus.com this morning?

It's been a couple years since I used an ebow (and on a regular guit) but so far, so good with the Joyo.

Two discoveries:

1) put my cheapie harmonizer right after the lap steel — at 2 octaves down, 100% wet, it shifts the ebow/lap steel combo to a timbre I can drone with more naturally.

2) Looking for things to ebow, I found that the Joyo had enough strength to wiggle the springs on my Electro-Faustus Blackfly, so there's some opportunities to be had there!

So.. I know I said I was done.. but I NEEDED a octave fuzz... and yeah you are all like you HAVE more than one octave fuzzes... But I needed something that was more aggressive than the Henrietta octavia and didn't try and kill you and your family like a superfuzz [katana sound] and the phantom octave hates the rest of my rig...so.. I just ordered a...

No it true, maybe in the past blacked soul might have possessed a cherry sunburst les paul, but the cherry sunburst les paul was a cheap pos bass that was traded in after a few months for a non cherry sunburst 3 tone sunburst p bass :thumb:
