Ezhi&Aka Brom... Fuzz
I've been casually eyeing this one for a few months, Laowiz happened to have one for sale and was kind enough to ship it back to the old continent.
I was intrigued by the parallel-mixing approach to three different fuzz voices, and it makes it really easy to set on the fly - obviously you have to like the original voicing of those, 'cause there's no room to change it very much other than messing with guitar knobs or other pedals placed in front of it.
Of the 4 knobs on it, 3 are dedicated volumes for the three fuzzes (Noise/Ringmod, Tape, Amp) and the fourth one on the top sets the rate for the noise engine.
Being parallel, the interaction between one and another is limited and mostly just a matter of frequencies jumping in and out when mixing them, but the envelope and ring mod switches add a good dose of unpredictability.
The envelope tapestop is wild but just takes a few minutes to understand how it reacts to picking, same with the autoswell, which is cool for mid tempo swells but glitches out a bit with long sustained notes.
The noise-floor of the noise/ringmod engine is surprisingly quieter than i expected - just to be clear: it pops when working with lower-frequency rates, but that's it.
