These are not as highend and detailed, but the results are so close you won't notice in a live situation.
Plus you can create chains of up to 6 fxs, and combine stuff together in some beautiful ways.
I almost wanted to get also a H9 back then, but never did because the CDR for my setup and sound design purposes is way bettter and more powerful!
It's still a super valid pedal after all these years, it's strange novody else came out with a similar concept!
I had a 100BT that I never adequately got into algorithm stacking before I flipped it. Definitely good sounds in there but I found the UI and preset cycling kind of meh. I had in the back of my mind to at someplace get a CDR do USB MIDI would make it more useful but I haven’t gotten one yet.

I think of the Line 6 HX stuff in a similar way, actually. Would be nice if they were as affordable. I’m more drawn to their UI, though I think those MS sounds in many cases may be more attractive.

Oh, and don’t fuss fidelity. I’ve got high and low fidelity digital effects and higher isn’t always better.
I have also the HX Stomp, and sometimes I recreate on it the prest I did on my MS CDR (sometimes I get quite close results, sometimes not, but these then turn out to be very good canvas to delevoppe something else)! Also very often I would go the other way around (like once I've faked some eEris Mercury 7 reverbs on the CDR).
In the end it's matter of knowing your gear and ingenuity!

MC70DR shipped today and Virus should be shipping soon :yay:

Then I get to rewire the board and be *done* for a LONG while. I am still pretty stern on the not selling anything but I am not opposed to flip something.

Strangely I have really no bass GAS at the moment - my Fender Jazz has really been the bass for me and I really enjoy playing it. It would be fun to fuck around with a rickenbocker but for over 2k , I am thinking I would have to wait.

Finally pulled the trigger on a Koma Field Kit Fx. Never realized those were so cheap. Looking forward to making some noise with it.

...aaaand with this, my Analog Four is on sale again to fund something semi-modular

UPD: No noise to be made, sadly. The output is busted, so back it goes.

For me too. I'm buying dirt pedals for the first time in like a decade.

Right?
excluding the Apocalypse that I bought and sold last year, and the Pest Tattern, my dirt choices have been the same since forever.
This year i already got:
- Mecha Feta (from coldbrightsantana)
- The Elements
- Virus
- Throat Locust incoming
- ..... :surprise: Haxan incoming too (Jero's the best)

I blame the pandemic and lack of rehearsals.

And maybe that's not even all. Who could possibly say. Definitely not someone who still has this extra box on their desk in March... :worry:

Holy fuck, I feel so stupid now. I somehow didn't realize the volume controls for each channel of the mixer were set to zero. Spent a solid hour troubleshooting :picard:

The good news is, I now have a fully functional Field Kit Fx!

 can't help but laugh at myself when I do stupid shit like that. Freaking out over not having sound from my amp before realizing I'm not plugged in or the guitar volume knob is on 0

True  I somehow completely blanked out on those volume controls while researching the demos before purchase. Was under a solid impression that it was a super-basic mixer with no individual volumes. Cancelling the refund request now

You have my sympathy.

Yet again today I spent the first half of my time spent recording with the recorder on standby.
