Under construction, obviously. Needs some finishing up, in terms of wiring and velcro and such. Buying and flipping countless boutique and vintage pedals over the last 20 years made me end up with something that looks like it was found in a thrift store in 1985. I'm sticking to my 'if it works, it works' philosophy, resisting the temptations of $300 fuzz face clones and glitchy noise makers with cool graphics.

Tried moving everything to my smaller board. Didn't fit, even if I left out the FZ-2 and the Micro Amp. So fuck it, I'm filling up the gaping voide with...a Line 6 HX Stomp?

I've got an old Guyatone TZ-2 incoming, as well as a Mooer Ensemble King. The latter will probably go in the loop of the Rubberneck. I was desperate for another superfuzz, but I doubt the guyatone will end up on the board. Anyone have any suggestions for a a single two channel pedal that could replace the FZ-2 and IC Muff? Or something else that might help clear some extra real estate?

At some point I might replace the Micro Amp with something that'll cover a wide range of boost and overdrive tasks, but I haven't made up my mind yet.

I didn't change a lot since my last post. I just put it all in a smaller case with a nice blue carpet beneath the pedals. I ditched the amp switch since I never play in the clean channel anyways. To make my post less boring, I'll do a before an after comparision.

"Before" is what I started out with when we had just formed the band and I put together a first setup:


"After" is what I ended up with after about half a year of writing songs and trying out a bunch of different pedals:


I plan to keep it that way and try to get the most out of what I have here, instead of constantly changing stuff up.

I actually used to own two HM-2's at the same time at some point. Sold 'em when the 'mij' hype peaked and everyone was going apeshit over the whole swedish chainsaw thing. Couldn't resist forking in a nice profit to spend on other pedals. Don't regret it, I could score a cheap MIT version any day of the week if I wanted to

For the money, imo it's hard to beat the Rubberneck. Gain control, tone control, long delay times, tails switch, the rubberneck/regen tricks, tap tempo, an fx loop,...
Here in the EU the price seems to have gone WAY up since I bought mine though, not sure how much they go for where you live.

The bad: the tone/gain controls REALLY interact with the level, in an annoying way. Also, when there's something going through the fx loop, the level/repeat controls don't seem to work like they normally do. The rubberneck function is not for me, but ymmv, I've read a lot of reviews and comments saying it's the shit.
I could probably flip it localy without any loss, but I don't know of anything else that also has that regen option as well as tap tempo and an fx loop. Accurate tap tempo too btw. One of my pet peeves, and one of the reasons I just flipped my otherwhise super nice Ibanez ES-2.
