LED section:
LED alternates red/blue whenever either of the buffer lengths are changed.
(Green description is ok)

Soft switch:
There is no function now when holding the soft switch. Tap will trigger the infinite playback and turn the LED green. That is the only soft switch function in this patch.

Also there are only 8 buffer lengths in this patch (not 10).

M middle column

all ok

M down column

Led White: maybe just copy what you put for Tap here, and in the Tap description "units" should say "unity".

Thank you!

Wow, thanks! I was picturing something more subtle, like just a different flavor of CT5, but this is a whole new thing. The dual-CT5 mode 1 works really well and can be as crazy or as nice as you want it to be. Mode 2 has so many possible permutations it could keep someone busy for months, but what I've tried so far has been great--sometimes almost reverbish, or with more repeats it can get quite peculiar. And not all clicky like some stutter effects. Mode 3 is pretty wild. It sets new frontiers of unpredictability. It all sounded good, but I had no idea what the hell was going on.

So far the only thing I noticed that was a slight issue was if you turn off the modulation in Mode 3 (to use it as a three-head delay) the LED goes dark, so you can't tell if the pedal is off or on. Obviously it becomes audibly clear once you start playing, but it was disconcerting at first. I haven't been able to get a sound with the modulation on that isn't batshit crazy, but that's fine with me and there are still many hours of knob-tweaking ahead.

A note to any light-sensitive folks out there--in all modes, but especially in Mode 2, the multicolored flashing LED can be hard on the eyes. Yet it's also mesmerizing.

New firmware has me itching hard for a 2nd CT5. Any word on the next batch?

Due to the current covid situation we have stopped fab since we are not considered essential by the Quebec Gov (obviously). However there are some "5th anniversary" units we made that we were supposed to sell last September (which was the actual 5th anniversary) but they did not go up for various reasons... so we will have those hopefully at the end of may since we are still allowed to continue the e commerce side of the biz. And then by that time i should also have a better idea when we can make more "normal" versions hopefully.

There should be at least 1 more beta firmware in the next few weeks, then anything seeming popular will get tweaked and released on the 5th anniversary run. Although all firms will work, it's more symbolic.

you can post feedback here, email support@mtlasm.zendesk.com or post in the comments of the "nightly" page with the patch descriptions.

:!!!: Dude... you have absolutely outdone yourself. Pretty sure my brain just exploded from awesomeness. Totally understand about the pandemic stuff. Things are kinda mental everywhere atm, but I'm really looking forward to the 5th anniversary and all the other firmware ideas you guys come up with. Gonna go try this first beta.

I’m loving the nightly release...honestly just mind blown how usable and fun/different it is. Maybe I’ll have more feedback later that’s useful, but I am just loving that you keep innovating...and I appreciate it.

I’ll 100% buy a 5th anniversary, it’s kind of symbolic to me too...

Really enjoying nightly as well. I'm really looking forward to when people start sharing settings as well because there's a lot in the 3 new modes.

My thoughts after a few hours of playing through each mode:
Mode 1 - I use the original mode 1 most often. Having it doubled up makes for some sweet layering possibilities and some absolutely gorgeous vibrato/chorus with DIR 1 and DIR 2 both around unity and no quantization.

Mode 2 - The stutters are so musical. I'm curious if it would be possible to quantize stutters 2 and 3 as divisions/multiples of stutter 1. I don't think it's all that necessary in the end, but I just found myself trying to see if I could get the second stutter to occur every 4th time the first stutter happened. Hopefully that makes sense. There's a lot of room for fun rhythmic stuff here, and I feel like I've barely scratched this mode because of how everything interacts. As great as the other modes sound, I think this mode is the standout for me, and I definitely prefer it over the original mode 2.

Mode 3 - The modulation here is gorgeous, and the feedback is really nice. I'd want to have delay times faster than 500ms though. I think with this mode I'd also want to have a more traditional delay time knob rather than notched areas based on divisions/multiples of 2. Then again, most people who want traditional delay probably have one. On pitch settings (namely octave since it's easiest to hear), I think I'm hearing head 1 (red) modulate up only (+1 octave) while head 2 (green) modulates up and down (+1 oct and -1 oct).

It's not terribly mode specific, but the low pass filter really brings out the best in the modulation sounds, especially when the pitch variation is close to unity. I didn't find myself using it much on the original firmware, but I'd consider it a necessity for Nightly Modes 1 and 3.

ok thanks for the feedback.

also since my last COVID comment... it now *looks* like Montreal will allow manufacturing businesses to resume May 11. not exactly sure how long till another run will be finished, but at least we can start to arrange it.

re mode 2 syncing between units, originally this was actually teh intent but it ended up sounding less interesting to me, but it could be implemented that way no problem. since there is no Q switch function in the current release maybe something could be added through that.

prob i will wait a bit for any other suggestions or bugs then make a .91 release. there is one thing in mode 3 that did not get implemented as well that should get added.

Also if anyone makes any clips on youtube and wants to link them so i can put some on the nightly page, i am mostly working from home now and have no real way to make recordings/have no instruments so i would be really appreciative of anything anyone might have already produced on ig or yt etc.

Happy to hear you guys might get to head back soon. Regarding mode 2, yeah I can see how it might become a little blander. In reality I really need to spend some more time with it to get a better idea of how the various settings and stutters interact with each other - just so I can figure out how to tweak it better.

I've got a long weekend this week, so maybe I can get a vid together if I can get my head wrapped around things a little better.

In nightly mode 2 is it possible to have the q switch do something like the opposite of quanitization...more random? So maybe (for those that want quantization) no quant, chromatic, perfect 5ths, then just modes of random?

I would love to see just absolute random mangling options...light medium heavy or something?

I'd be into adding some random to Nightly mode 2. I like how arhythmic it is and I'd love to make it more so.
