I just got a Count to Five, but I honestly think your points are pretty legit. True, some of the mystique of the pedal would be gone, but I'd appreciate some clarity (in my case not so much for the quantization but more for Q's secondary functions). But yeah, not a deal-breaker or a condemnation of the pedal as a whole, I just think there's room for improvement in terms of legibility down the roadelefontpress wrote:I apologize to this forum for turning the Count to Five discussion into a debate about whether or not LEDs are helpful for telling if your pedal is on. I think the best things IMHO that could happen with this pedal is a preset controller, one was designed and built by a member here and I would LOVE to see that made and available to all count to 5 users. Other than that the only frustrating thing for me is that it seems impossible to find the normal delay spot when turning the knob and by impossible I mean impossible on the fly in a live situation, having increments on that knob would be more useful to me.

If you go to any of the Q modes that aren't the default, then it is quite easy to get to 1:1 ratio, you can try that it might help you out.

WOW! Thank you, never saw that in the manual, that is super helpful! Just tried it! Thanks again for that info!multi_s wrote:Glitches&switches wrote:kaboodle wrote:I just got a Count to Five, but I honestly think your points are pretty legit. Re: Count To Five
Have you considered taking a sharpie and making a line? If you don't want to deface your pedal, you could put a piece of painter's tape/masking tape/a sticker/etc and then draw the line w a sharpie. I have one of those Rucci 8 bit synths and I did this to indicate where octave and pattern changes happen since there are no markings on the casing and I didn't want to draw on the box permanently. It has changed the game in using that "pedal" for me.Glitches&switches wrote:kaboodle wrote:I just got a Count to Five, but I honestly think your points are pretty legit. Or get a Settings Saver marker which is water soluble. That's what I do on all my pedals.

Re: Count To Five
Marking it wouldn't help as it is such a micro fine point to get to exactly 1:1 ratio but in the Q modes not so fine as Scott pointed out and now that I have that information I have been playing around with infinite delays at a 1:1 ratio which is endless fun! Also what I truly do love about this pedal, there is always something new to discover!cosmicevan wrote:Have you considered taking a sharpie and making a line? I used to mark everything with small stripes of yellow adhesive paper, but this sure looks easier to use.cosmicevan wrote:learn something new everyday - http://www.stagetrixproducts.com/setting-saver.htmlshikawkee wrote:Or get a Settings Saver marker which is water soluble. Re: Count To Five
Really looking forward to getting mine. The bad news is that it’s six days past Canada Post’s estimated delivery time and it seems to have entered a black hole upon crossing the border to the US. The good news is I have had time to read this entire thread.

Re: Count To Five
The Count To Five has been a pivotal improvisational tool for me since I first got it.
Here is an animation I made scratching and painting a roll of 35mm filmstrip. For the
soundtrack I made extensive use of the CT5, a Drolo Stamme[n] and a Dr. Scientist BitQuest!

Thanks, Scott, for making such a useful, inspiring, always surprising, pedal.

Re: Count To Five
I am thinking about selling my Count to 5. Not sure yet. But what is legit price to ask? And what is good place/forum to place an add besides reverb (I have no experience with reverb) ? A specific place where they are interested in this pedal?

Re: Count To Five
Scott sells them direct pretty frequently with blemished versions available for $225 so I'd say that's a fair price to ask for a used one.
