My kid is suddenly having oral surgery tomorrow and I'm kind of freaking out about it. General anesthesia is scary and how do I explain to a 5 year old that he's going to pass out and wake up with a bunch of teeth gone?

It was supposed to happen months ago but some bullshit went down and messed it up. Then it was scheduled for next month but he got bumped for tomorrow. Been running around all day taking care of shit for that. Now the next 2 days I'll be hanging around with him while he recovers, then my grandpa is coming to visit for Xmas, then I work a crazy weekend for new years. I'm going to be totally fucking spent.

My kid is going to look hilarious with his 4 front teeth missing though.

Shits scary but you guys will be ok. Be strong and be there for him. As long as your chill he will be too.

My boy had general when he was like 4, and it was fine. They use the really good specialists for children. It's ok to be a little scared. He will be fine :)

I used to like our apartment. Then we got noisy neighbors above us (Parties every weekend. Boots/heels all hours of the day and night - WHO DOES THAT!?), and the ones below have started smoking on an almost nightly basis. I have nothing against pot in general but it's stinking up my home and, in particular, my baby's bedroom. Smoke outside and away from my precious, vulnerable child, you stupid people

The front office has been doing nothing, but they'll be hearing from me again tomorrow anyways.

Smoke doesn’t really bother me either unless kids are around. Took my older kids sledding at the neighborhood park yesterday...not a soul to be seen outside, but the park reeked.

Hard to explain pot odors to children without abusing the reputation of skunks.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

I apparently wore my earplugs incorrectly at practice. I'm basically deaf in one ear right now. It feels blocked though. Like earwax maybe? I hope it's nothing serious.

We sounded awesome at practice though. I wonder if it's because I'm half deaf now.

I don't want to sleep for fear of tomorrow. It is happening regardless, as time moves on and things are inevitable. Outcome is either things should get better or completely devastating. The timing is such dark fucking humor. Legit laughter about it.

Whelp! Didn't have to evict my shit tenant after all! Now I'm just stuck with someone who is unresponsive to me and I need to have a response! Yea me! :(

People are such cock suckers sometimes. I'm really trying to be helpful here but this person is pushing me to the point of not giving a fuck about them.

Little dude is out of surgery and a few teeth lighter. He screamed at me for an hour, told me I was a bad dad, ate apple sauce, and passed out.

Gonna be a long day haha

I am so mad at so many people for flaking out in the last month or so. Multiple industry folks. Personal friendships. Family. I understand that shit has been stressful lately for lots of people but oh my fuck. One person totally fucked up my bday gift to Ben, another a big project at work. I am really fucking sick of covering for other people or just going without.

I think there's a strange inverse relationship between proximity to the holidays and people's kindness to each other. That is to say it's been my experience everyone turns into dicks right around holidays.

Sorry it's been rough. Holidays are always pure balls for me.. I just have low expectations going in.

Lost a customer to Sonos today. :|:
The only upside is that I just finished the repair, and since he doesn't want it, I can sell it (the intercom goes for ~$1K online).
Also, I just barely avoided losing another customer because these locals refuse to listen to me when I tell them repairs can take up to 4 weeks (dude literally called me the day after dropping it off to see if I'd fixed it yet, then called two days later even though I told him it'd be at least a week before I even looked at it :whateva: ).

Christmas time sucks.
