Bought a broken Sunn Alpha 115 for $80
Think I found the issue. While I wait until parts, and until I get any more free time to repair it here's my temporary sunn amp with doom storage shelf. Added a speaker in and an amp out.

How do you like that Port City cab? I was looking at one just like it a while back. Definitely seems unique.
I like it. But, I find it is very particular about speakers. I had the Blue and Anni in there and it sounded way too compressed. Their ad copy says it doesn't boost any certain frequencies, just gives more of everything. That wasn't my experience. The cab adds a lot of bottom end. It needs tight(heavy magnet) and bright speakers. I bought the Mojotone cab, with the V30's in it, with the specific intent of swapping the speakers. I, also, bought the Mig 50 just for more clean power. All, so I can hold on to the Port City... Well, and my LPJ is better into that setup.
While leaves shall fall, do branches intertwine, that we remain bound.
The guitar is a MPLS Screaming Eagle. It's like a mix between a mustang/firebird/jazzmaster. I used to use a 1963 Epiphone Wilshire but it's getting a bit too expensive to take out now and this is similar in sound but with all the bad parts taken out, wider neck better break angle etc. It's really well made and super nice all over, highly recommend.
The amp is basically a twin reverb preamp or similar anyway and then the power amp is Class D. I a/b'd them together at practice and honestly it's pretty much the same volume wise and sound but I can lift this one...
I'm pretty sure it was a combinations of highly damaged pots, some resting on other components causing oscillations, and a bad normal input jack. Re soldered all the caps while i was in there.
nice, really like how those amps sound and have wanted one for a while. seems like it would be a solid little amp that could be used for a lot of recording applications
