I stumbled upon this sorting the stuff out by "upload date" to see if anything interesting popped up lately that I hadn't seen. This is pretty sweet, and it actually sounds like Billy's using a fuzzbox of some sort here, rather than the rack amp-based distortion he favoured shortly after.

On my way to work I listened to the Daughters' selftitled album.

I've been listening to it, literally, all day today at work.
It makes the hours melt away.

It's muthaXXX excellent. A pity they broke up 'cause of it. At least that's what wikipedia says.

I wish I worked with people that would at least listen to any music while working. But no - silence - dumb jokes - hysterical giggles - silence. OK, I admit work is alright, but it could definitely use some more Daughters records. Listened to it on my way back from work again and later while lying in a park and gazing into the blue.

I think after all these years I have found a new "favourite" album.

I agree...this album owns. Ive never really heard anything like this, any suggestions for similar bands?

i loved that album!i agree totally recommended!
there was also another EP that i cant find anywhere.
it had a photo of beck with a stormtrooper mask on the inside cover.
and the lyrics on one of the tracks were about huffing gas listening to molly hatchet in a pickup truck.
does anyone know what it was called? its not on even on the beck wiki page.
