Just played my Driving Notion for like 4 hours. Eardrums are sufficiently shredded.

I gotta figure out how to tame it a bit. It might be the AC30 clone I was playing through, but holy shit the DN is HARSH. I'm determined to find a use for it though. No more flips.

Mostly I need a new amp. The one I'm playing through breaks up too early and doesn't get loud enough.

I us the DN on full treble with a Jaguar for maximum ear shredding. It's great.

With love from China via Amazon. The manufacturer is Little Bear, hence the concerns about QC ... though I'm willing to take a risk if it can match the destructive power demonstrated in a YouTube demo with my rig. The G3 version appears more solid than the G1 I ordered, but the latter of the two is clearly the fuzzier of the pair.

Do you ever stack it with other stuff?

i have one too and i love stacking it in front of a Rat2 , Big Muff, or the STEP. The STEP by itself is sometimes kind of bland to me at a lot of settings, but paired with this pedal it really becomes something exciting. It is great for stacking IMO and can completely change the character of any fuzz/dirt that you put it in front of. It is one pedal that i will probably never sell because it is not only great by itself, but also with just about everything else. I think your issues with the treble are most likely from your amp. With mine (ibanez tsa30) it sounds great and can be tamed rather easily. If you want it to be raging, you can get into that territory too, but it shouldn't be a huge problem toning it down as well. I almost never have it turned off anymore.

True, the man is busy though. This is the result of him trying to bring about a more budget friendly line. Matte finish, single pickup, set neck...that kind of stuff.
