Im trying out some fender brand pure nickel strings because they seem to be the cheapest around atm at about £4.50 posted. I'm hoping they'll solve problems with the lower strings being significantly louder than the top and maybe sound a bit richer? We'll see I guess.

Dumb question maybe, but: what about adjusting the position of your guitar's pickups?

Tried that, I can't get good balance between the pickups without one of them being really unbalanced. Plus, I just wanted to try some nickels coz I never have before (and, again, cheapest strings I could find)

You wouldn't happen to play bass by any chance? Almost ordered one of those as my main OD. Would love to hear some bass clips.

If you play with a pick and like chimey grind, the Looking Glass should be up your alley. I didn't notice much of a difference when playing fingerstyle (bear in mind this was when using an 8-string guitar in drop E, so not quite a bass ... but in the same register).

The last of my Thanksgiving purchases arrived yesterday
It's my first (proper) Chase Bliss pedal as well as my first etched pedal, and WOW is it beautiful I really liked the purple/black color scheme of the original Spectre, but this is absolutely gorgeous. I think JonnyAngle did 10 of these?? Anyways, beyond aesthetics, I can definitely say the Spectre is one of the nicest sounding pedals I've played on. It puts my old F-13 to shame.
