for all you dudes!
My broken-ass picking hand/wrist/arm is seriously heart-wrenching some days. I can pretty much
only strum without discomfort. Some days it's fine and I can pick comfortably.... but MOST days it's a tight, painful mess and I can barely pick. I've been trying every picking technique I can find, playing to a metronome so I don't try to play too fast, stretching, warming up..... Before everyone tells me (again) to go to a therapist, I'll say that I went to an orthopedic Dr when I had tendonitis and he was seriously ZERO help. I've had massage therapists and an osteopath look at it. I've tried trigger-point therapy, hot/cold treatment..... fuck.
My fretting hand works fine, but the picking hand....

At this point I'm seriously considering teaching myself to play left-handed. This is getting to be depressing on some days.
