Do you ever play out with those? Or is there a third board that's smaller and more practical for actual live/rehearsel use?

On the rare occasion I take it out, I take the PT-Pro (the one with the H9s), it is pretty self contained. I have a PT-2 as well, but that's mostly overflow.frigid midget wrote:nshuman wrote:

Compressors, I like them quite a bit. Those are two different versions of the same-ish thing. One is pre, one is post right now.

One is the TX version, standard with output transformer. The otehr one is the limited edition G-P version with parallel blend and germanium boost.

Nifty. I know comparatively fuck all about compressors, so what's the purpose of running them pre and post fx?

It can do tons of things. Fatten up your tone, limit peaks, act as an effect. It can be used for a million different things. Different ones will do very different things.

Clean it's an effect that's more pronounce in a live context, but it makes playing with delays a lot better IMO. If you do a lot of clean mathy tapping it's a must, as it prevents the inevitable lost of volume that oftentimes ruins those parts live.
I always have my Accountant on, but that's because I love how it affects my tone apart from the compression. While some fuzzes take comps like shit, other fuzzes become a lot thicker with one behind them. It also makes a lot of tracking effects more accurate.
