I love Immortal. Was great to see Abbath perform some of the classics.

Skeletonwitch is pretty rowdy, for sure.

You guys gotta come up this way sometime.

I'll buy you a beer.

Hey boombros. Adulting is hard and kept me away from the board. How is everyone?
I'm going to be in Manassas, VA next week (April 21-23) for a work thing. Any good shows in that area around that time? If not, anyone live near there and want to meet up for some local brews?

Saw this on Instagram and snagged the last 2015 YOB tour edition Quantum Mystic that has been hiding for a year somewhere in the back corner of the BAT headquarters...

I never gelled with the QM, which I think had a lot to do with my clean amp and high output pups.
Nick might want to clarify, but it seemed to be more suited to some amp grit and low gain pups?

That is a sexy as hell colour scheme.

I haven't been posting in here as much because you guys are kicking a bunch of arse and I'm still just a lamo.
But you all should know that you're killing it.

We did a gig in a squat in Utrecht. For people looking to book shows in the Netherlands ACU is a definite reccomendation. Good people, good vibes, and FOOD.

Setup was a Marshall JCM something and a London City Bulldog into unknown cabs. Marshall's send goes to the delay and splits from there, Left side goes into the return of the Bulldog and the right sight back into the Marshall's return. Bass was a Terror Bass into a 4x10 Hartke. Decent enough gear not to warrant schlepping the 5150, Orange, and SWR stuff out for.

I'll definitely keep y'all updated. Would love to meet as many doomfolk as possible. The routing will depend on if we're on a larger tour or a solo jaunt, but I think it'll be toward the end of May 2017.

Weird, I have fairly hot pickups (Lace Drop n Gain in the bridge) and use a totally clean amp (Ampeg V2 and/or V4) and it just crushes. Might depend on the amp voicing as well. :idk:
KHEMMIS. Doomed heavy metal. DECEIVER out 11/19/21 on Nuclear Blast.

GLACIAL TOMB. Misanthropic death/black/sludge. S/t debut out now on Gilead Media.

Good deals with: Ancient Astronaught, conky, crohny, D-Day, Corey Y, ryan summit, tons more here and on HCFX under this username

Yeah man, different strokes, horses for courses and all of that. You use that sort of rig on the record?
I tend to gravitate towards dirt sounds that nobody else likes, so there's that.
Like, I really hate rats.
Other people make them sound amazing and I love what they can do, but whenever I get one I just sound like a butt rock guy trying to play lamo metal from the mid 90s.
That could be because I am actually that, but I find when I do the same thing with other pedals I at least sound cool tonally.
Even though I'm stilling rolling that nu-butt steez.

Man. I wanted to love Rats, too. Just never worked out for me. Course I'm on amp gain now and use the Buzzz and 141g for weird fuzzy sounds when required.

QM is awesome on bass/vi. It's my main dirt into a V4 right now and it kills it. So much headroom and I barely ever have the gain last halfway. I boost it with either a muff or a box of metal if I need more.

My buddy has a Rockerverb MK2 and thought he had a microphonic preamp tube so he brought it over to see if we could figure out what was up with it. After rolling some tubes around we ended up figuring that one of the EL34s in it were bad. I didn't have a set of EL34 to pop in but we put some JJ KT88s in there and holy goddamn, that amp sounds so good with them. The dirty channel was nailing everything from light crunch to thick death metal tones but what sounded best were the mid gain From Ashes Rise / HHIG tones. The clean channel went from being sterile to really fat and round. Didn't put any fuzz on it but I imagine it will take pedals really well and get huge tones. Sounded so good. I was never a fan of Rockerverbs before that and I don't like KT88s in my Model T but I love them in his Orange.

And all this Quantum Mystic talk is making me miss having one.

My problem is always wanting the pedal that isn't on my board. I swear I swap drive pedals every week or two.

When the Fuzz Throne and Quantum Mystic show up I think it's going to be an epic battle on the board for a while.
