Yeah but that filter will probably filter in an expensive manner.
Good deals: OsbornKT, Phantasmagorovich, UglyCasanova, DarkAxel, Skip, D.o.S, ColdBrightSunlight, Eivind August, Goroth

Budget has nothing to do with it. It has to do with presuming something isn't worth its value before trying it. Or just being cheap in general.

If a builder puts out something awesome and it's unique as shit but costs 250 and it's a fuzz, guaranteed there will be ILF people bitching about the price. Unless it's a builder they are obsessed with and everyone e-blows for whatever reason. There's a hive mind here and it's obnoxious sometimes.

I pay what I think an item is worth based on many factors. I don t discount something if it's 500 or 100. Price is not inductive of the end result in all cases.

dude, money is important. sure, let's discuss sound first, but shit has to be worth it. can't take that out of the equation.

now granted, people have different budgets, but that still doesn't mean you should spend 1000$ on a tubescreamer just because your budget is bigger.

nora, that thing is fucking cool. I think the pricetag is for hefty for me to just go and buy it without thinking. for what it looks like and for what it does i think it's in a reasonable range, if you're gonna really use it that is.

shit i just bought a filter for 300$. i should be ashamed.
My workday ended in my arguing over money yesterday, so I guess I'm just averse to the topic. Of course it has to be worth it, but people buying $1000 dollar tubescreamers might have other interests than just sound.

The problem here is that 250 dollars is quite a lot of money, so of course people, myself included, would "bitch" about that price. Sure, it's unique and I could want it, but there are other priorities than gear, like food and social life or whatever. If I had enough money to not really care if I spent $250 I'd rather consider myself quite well off than complain about people bitching about high prices. That's what I mean about holding your own budget as a standard

I'll respond more in depth later. I'm at the gym. Go figure right?

I'm probably being too harsh but I can site specific examples. I won't but I could.

Love you guys at any rate.

wow. completely disagree. if it's entirely unique and costs 250$ i think people will wish they had the money to spend on it, but they don't, and oftentimes they think it looks worth trying if they had the budget for it. ?

The Dirty Doper almost makes it. That's not a money grab, that number is derived from total cost of materials and my time weighed against the baseline cost of my survival. I haven't heard much bitching, but I also don't have people breaking down the door for them, so it's plausible it's a non-viable mutation and will eventually die off in the landscape of cheap shit pumped out of distant factories. Life goes on, bitching or lack thereof notwithstanding.

I mean, it's all relative to what you're paying for. Design/complexity vs Mojo. I'm more willing to drop high amounts of money on something like the Pretty Years over something like a vintage Big Muff/t00bscreamer. :idk: I like weird pedals that do new things, even if they are in the same category as cheaper pedals. Just as much as I dislike vintage pedals that are available in exact form for way cheap.

There are a FUCK ton of unique fuzz pedals that cost well over 250.

That aside. I wasn't trying to be a dick, but I've found generally speaking ILF seems to have a bad attitude towards something expensive unless it's an item that everyone and their mother is going crazy over. IE the mob mentality. For instance. There's a ton of people who love the Big Metal Judder. I've owned it 3 times and thought it sucked and find it to be way overpriced for what it does. But I don't care enough to say "hey that shit is overpriced, I wouldn't pay that".

Son of whore computer. I wasn't finished.

Anyway, I just find that people seriously only don't bitch about it, and yes I'm going to continue to use that term unless it's an ILF builder or a builder that everyone wants to have shit from. I mean, look at Seppuku Fx for example. How many of you wouldn't even think twice about dropping 250 on that stuff and homie doesn't even put all the screws in the back plate or all the knobs on sometimes. LOL!! That's the only time I think I've been very against his price, but that's because he was WAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY cheaper originally and marked up some of his shit like a 100% and added one or two features. So maybe I'm a hypocrite.

My point is. Price doesn't mean it's not worth it. If something 100 fine. If it's 300, ok. If you want it bad enough, you'll figure out that budget.
