Huh. I'm gonna have to listen to this closer now, I don't think I had noticed.Inconuucl wrote:Fun fact, a lot of the psych/noise sections on France the Mute use the Slicer Extensively. I'll definitely get one again once I'm financially stable.jwar wrote:psychic vampire,
Just for you, I went ahead and jammed out. LOL! I had a fucking blast! The Slicer is INSANE! LOL! It's definitely 100% a totally different beast than the Hologram Dream Sequence though. WAY fucking different. Like not even close to the same tones. I hate to say it, but the Slicer has more options on tap. The recording options is insane by it's self. It's a looper, but with nutso stuff. hahaha. It's really fun to feed it dirt. I need to move it closer to the end of my chain. I love the choppy settings though and that you can control the tempo on a dial.
Also there's different options for mono vs stereo. I know very little about stereo stuff. Can I even run it stereo? I'm literally an idiot with this stuff. I need to plug in an expression pedal and see what happens with that.
I barely tapped the surface before my neck was killing me too much. But I had fun!
Also, Jwar, this is a pedal that really excels in stereo. Those options were probably my favorite when I owned it the last time.

Surely they break a lot of pedals. Weird.
Shit hits the fan about halfway through.

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
This is all so informative. After writing the initial parts of five songs, i kind of fell out of love with some of my set up and wanted something that was gonna do it all differently. Kinda considering a Slicer that could be either put after my polysynth or microphone, or on an effects send from the mixer, as just a way to break up drones and harsh noise parts, or as a way to add melody lines to chords, or after some Delay pedal hold/stutter shit. Doing stereo fun with it sounds like a fucking dream.jwar wrote:psychic vampire,

I read like 25 pages of that Prymaxe thread. Does anything more happen? I kinda kept expecting some fart to come in and shit on everyone's parade, but it wasn't happening.

Well I got a Slicer as well, one for eurorack though. This was Modular Addict's last kit so I'm glad I jumped to build this finally. Been eyeing this kit forever.

Just bought two cheap pedulz today: SD-1 and DD-6. Both used for 100€.
Fuzzonaut about the RM-1N:
"Amp in a box"?
No, there's no amp in there - tone fairies and feedback goblins live inside this box.

I thought the Slicer was released in 07/08(tried to google it, found some press releases from 08 at least), and Frances The Mute released in 05(recorded in 04)?Inconuucl wrote: Fun fact, a lot of the psych/noise sections on France the Mute use the Slicer Extensively. Yeah, I must have crossed some information in my head. I was sure of it and then I looked for my source and didn't find anything other than the ending of Vismund Sygnus sounding like it had the Slicer and Omar talking about it. My bad.ognoy wrote:I thought the Slicer was released in 07/08(tried to google it, found some press releases from 08 at least), and Frances The Mute released in 05(recorded in 04)?Inconuucl wrote: Fun fact, a lot of the psych/noise sections on France the Mute use the Slicer Extensively. Doesn't make the pedal any less rad.

I fucking hate the Slicer, but I am convinced every day that it's mostly just me and not the pedal itself.

I decided to pair down on my excess pedals and get rid of all the stuff I don't need. Naturally I've not sold anything but I do have a pitchfactor and a dd-7 incoming...

This is the most ILF thing I've ever read.Hobbes96 wrote:I decided to pair down on my excess pedals and get rid of all the stuff I don't need. Naturally I've not sold anything but I do have a pitchfactor and a dd-7 incoming...

Also went ahead and picked up this kit because it's a eurorack version of the Polymoog Filter Section which is the tits. Going to be fun building.

Hah! I've went through the same thing with many other pedals that I see others loving. Sometimes we just don't like shit. Nothing wrong with that. There's many things that are ILF love pedals that I'm like "seriously guys that shit sucks", but I think my ears are just weird sometimes.D.o.S. wrote:I fucking hate the Slicer, but I am convinced every day that it's mostly just me and not the pedal itself.
Now I will say I think it would be more usable for a guitarist over a bassist. But it's fun at least.
