I think it'll serve a different purpose from a four string, so I don't know that there'll be many points of comparison. We shall see. I'm excited, either way.blakestree wrote:foomanfat wrote:Squier Bass VI incoming.
I'll be interested to hear how you feel it compares to your Mikey Way. I dumped my Bass VI, and got a Mikey Way, and I couldn't be happier.

Inbound:

Can't wait to fuzz it up the proghole, though attenuation of the output level may be a bit tricky with the control layout.

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
This would seem to be the case based on video demos and info on the ARC website, though all controls are supposed to be interactive. Given how well ARC modded the green Russian muff, their Buzzaround should be equally well-made ... but, hopefully, less vanilla.neonblack wrote:Balance is probably volume

IIRC the Arc Russian is just a straight up clone of Skully's old one.

That must have been a surprisingly low gain muff, though the saturation is nice in the upper gain range IMO.D.o.S. wrote:IIRC the Arc Russian is just a straight up clone of Skully's old one.

Okay, okay. What do yo uwant to do with it?wfs1234 wrote:IN: iPad Pro

First off get Audiobus and AudioShare, that's the baseline for music making on the ipad.
Bold items are my favorites.
Modular:
Audulus 3 (nothing else gets close to it, so not even going to bother listing them)
Synths:
Moog Model 15
Animoog
iMS-20
Cyclop (noise and glitch heaven)
Samplers:
Samplr
Blocs Wave
Sample Manipulation:
Sector
Borderlands (great for ambient)
iDensity
Soundscaper (glitch, ambient, everything, it's incredibly complex and engrossing)
Drums/grooveboxes:
Patterning (bar none the best drum app on iOS, sample based, can do really complex rhythms really easily)
Egoist (strays between sample manipulation and groove box, I love it to death)
iMPC Pro (if you like that sort of thing)
Effects:
Turnado
Flux:FX
Effectrix (sequenced effects, great for drums)
The Klevgrand Effects suit
AUFX 4
Music Utilities:
Chord! (make sure it's the one by THomas Grapperson, it's the best guitar songwriting tool I've used)
Tempo Advance (crazy metronome)
Tunable (fantastic tunner)
AUM (you won't need this until you have an eternal keyboard maybe, but it makes recording complex sounds a lot easier.)
Recording/sequencing:
Cubasis (a full daw, everything you really need)
Loopy (fantastic looper for getting ideas down)
Modstep (ios midi sequencer, is always improving by leaps and bounds)
garaband/music memos (you have them already, they are actually good)
Fugue machine (does what it says, makes your one melody into a fugue, really good for getting new ideas)
Gadget (an all in all music sketch took by Korg, highly recommend it, although not for everyone)
Fieldscaper (It's a real time version of soundscaper. Meant for field recordings but is amazing for guitar. Super inspirational, it's the closest thing to having an anti nautilus.)
Standard sounds (pianos and shit):
Sample Tank
Korg Module
Don't bother with the BIas series, their business model is absolute garbage.
I probably missed a bunch of great apps, but this is just off the top of my head.

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
Thanks! This looks like a great list to start with!! Cubasis and Patterning stick out the most to me right now(after the two utility ones, that is). I'm not really interested in replicating/emulating anything and that Audulus 3 looks really promising!Inconuucl wrote:Okay, okay. What do yo uwant to do with it?wfs1234 wrote:IN: iPad Pro

Other than that, I'd really like a good midi sequencer/controller. I kinda expect I could make Cubasis do that in spades, but do you know of one that's a little friendlier to live performances?

Do you mean like using the iPad as a controller or a controller for the iPad?

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
iPad as a controller. I need a midi-clock source as well as sending other midi data (like controlling parameters on something, not necessarily sequencing parameter changes). I've got loopers, a drum machine, a synth, and effects that I'd like to control from one interface, and the ipad feels like it really has a lot of potential for powerful and easy-to-manage control.
