Been a while since I've posted in here:

Picked up a DFX9 again after searching for a longer delay for stuff the DMM can't do and realizing the futility of searching through a million delay pedals when I could just go with what I already knew. Blue box is a Dirge speaker cranker style preamp, next to it is a true bypass loop used as an on/off for the whole board.

Doggamn this place. ILF has the best boards in all the land. Pretty much all of them are just crazy. I would rock/bang all of them. 10/10.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

It's a little bit of an oversimplification but the GB24 (depending on which version you have) is either a very low-fi or a noticeably lo-fi version of Mode One on the Ct5
good deals are here.

What's the details on the finish?

Cool! What did you determine? I was just asking resincum about this very thing. (Soon to battle 'em myself!)

I kinda like the BQ fuzzy verb a little better but I didn't get a chance to dial in the pre-and post gain on the RM as much as I would like cause I got too busy noodling
they can come close to each other if you really take the time to set them up

and they both like slamming into fuck mountain which is awesome,

I will probably end up setting the RM up dirty most of the time and keeping the BQ cleaner but that's mostly because I like messing with the other BQ sounds clean as well

This is rad! all the dirt. How does this work for TCW? I always figured you had more delay and reverb stuff going on.

National Geographic photo of some religious statues in Europe - I can't remember the date/issue anymore. I got tired of the plain white finish - I might do the same to the ct5 sometime.

I can agree with that, but at the same time I find a lot of difference. Mine is a v2 so not the very lo-fi like Rustwire has. It's like a Vox Continental vs a Nord keyboard - the ct5 can do way more, but if I want 'that' sound I go for the gb24. I don't have the latest firmware update on the ct5 cause I can't get it to work, so mine doesn't have the quantization ease that the more recent ones seem to have. I find the ct5 a little more unpredictable at times - you have to play around with it more, whereas the gb24 is easy to dial in.

Awesome! Thanks for the assessment. That sounds like a good plan.
