Gotta stick with the plan. Big sequencer and a blofeld. Then drum machine and modules. Closer every day tho.

Jeallllllz. I just got a BS2 today, so that was fun as hell to dig into. What's the planned big sequencer?

Which drone synth is it?

No name homemade thing. Look at those knobs! Can be found on evilbay and etsy.
There is more stuff, looks good and I might be back for more as this little box puts out nice sounds.
From deep low pumping to screaming feedback stuff.

I kinda fear the repercussions of saying this here but some of you people should get some things from Gijs Gieskes. Beyond being a super nice guy and cool musician, he's a really unique and interesting instruments creator. He started with gameboy music and circuit bending ages ago and slowly evolved toward more and more weird/awesome stuff. Lots of modular recently, but he does standalone devices too.

http://gieskes.nl/

As I said, he's really nice so contact him directly if you're interested in his stuff.

I am still digging into the god damn BS2 all the time. Last night practicing my improv group we just used the BS2/M32/DRM1/BSP and just going through the presets and turning a few knobs my partner was hitting sounds on the BS2 i'd never heard before.

The planned big sequencer, I SHOULD save up for a Squarp Pyramid or a Kilpatrick Carbon probably, because reasons, but they are expensive and rare to find used/not out yet, so i am wondering if a Yamaha rm1x will suffice. Mostly just need a sequencer to send chords on my poly machines and send start/stops to my drum machines. Maybe sequence the BS2/M32 as well. The Beatstep Pro + a MidiGAL would work, ostensibly, but i'd prefer to have polyphony built into my sequencer and the bsp belongs to my band mate.

I hope my relationship with the blofeld is better than that. I will admit, I wish it was rackmount, rumning out of god damn tabletop space.

Made an offer and scored this. Based on the Maestro MP-1, been on my radar for years but they never pop up and I'm pretty sure they're no longer in production.

They restock often? People on r/synthesizers said something about their distributors being in the same cities, thus the prices? I don't know. There is also a used Blofeld at Guitar Center for $350.

Got one of these today:

Image

Been itching for one for a while but could never justify it. Still can't justify it, but got one anyway. Shut up, sensible voice in my head telling me not to. I'll save for the future when I'm dead.

It's great fun. Insta-Tom Morello, without having to jam up my pick-up switches. Run it onto a delay with lots of digital repeats and it sounds like Black Metal trempicking forever and ever.

And y'know, his eyeballs light up, which is probably more important than the effect itself.
