Finally got my hands on a used Fuck, been wanting one since "holy shit, dude from Cymbals Eat Guitars makes pedals?!" (way before I joined here)

I like it so far, but have to try it in a band setting to see if it's a keeper. Is it normal that the sound intermittently drops out completely on the light crackle setting with threshold way up? Unexpected and tbh useless for me.
Heavy setting is cool tho.

Yep! That's the crackle for ya. If the fuck sounds broken, it's doing its job.

K, cool. I do enjoy the broken sounds, just thought maybe that toggle would work the other way round, heavy being the most fucked. It will be interesting to explore this beast further.

Just don't crank the threshold, unless that's what you're going for. Find the sweet spot where it only mangles when you want it to mangle.

Any recommendations on that regard?

I have never gelled with MPC style sequencing, mostly because i came up on other styles. I know some people swear by it, other hate it. Not my thing but might be yours, lots of of people recomment JJOS as the firmware.

Currently using a Korg ER-1, ES-1, and a Vermona DRM1 sequenced by a Beatstep Pro (DRM1 is mine, BSP is my partner's). Fucked around with a bunch of there things in the past, Second gen Electribes (ESX and EMX), AIRA TR-8, mfb 522, volca beats, vintage gear, yadda yadda yadda.

No clue what your budget is, but every electribe i have fucked with or owned has been great. You could do much worse than an ER-1 if your budget is lower. Lots of people like the volca sample. I love the sounds of the DRM1 with a wild heart, and sometimes wanna pair it with a Kawai XD-5, which is incredible and you should look it up. Drum synthesis is so cool.

Personally been REALLY gassing for a Tanzbär and a Machinedrum bc i am silly. Don't really need either and definitely not both, I just crave those polyrhythmic sequences and parameter locks.

Yeah, I mean. Patterning on the ipad is a godsend for drums and all of that. But I miss tactile control, you know? It's why I can never fully commit to the iPad life.

Yeah, understood. If i end up keeping the DRM1 and getting a RM1x or Pyramid or some bullshit to sequence everything, i'd prolly just pick up the XD-5 and try to call it good, but i love interesting sequencers and interfaces. Guh, the life of industrial and techno music.

GONE-Big Sky and Wombtone MK1. Loved both but neither one really were what I was looking for in those particular effects.

Cumming-Darkglass Supersymmetry, IE Xerograph DLX (number 8 I think. Is it 8 I've owned? Maybe 9???)

Here-Darkglass B7K Ultra!

The Pale Mare may replace my Lone Wolf Audio Black Goat if it has less upper midrange artifact crunkage when muting ... and I have high hopes for the Dungeon Master.

aw man. that sick green horse is the one i had my eye on. after that got snagged on reverb, i had to go ahead and pick up the purple one at rock and roll vintage in chicago while i was in town over the weekend. definitely let us know what you think of both those. that dungeon master lookin very appealing right now.

besides this new pale mare that i barely messed with..... got a dunn zealot headed my way pretty soon now. highly anticipated.

Never got bit by the Teenage Engineering bug. What excites you about the OP-z?

My second SS/BS Mini should arrive tomorrow. One for keyboards, one for bass. Or both for keyboards, I'll have to try that :)
