I fully endorse this. Tone is pointless and volume can be controlled with the foot as Satan intended.

Yup, that's how I do it. It's just really useful to have for my style of playing, so I don't have much in terms of options.

you definitely need to throw something in the loop for it to really shine, but the superego is definitely a special pedal.

I'll just set aside $800 for the future chasebliss Superego clone...in the meantime, the Superego rules that genre, given its the only member of that genre...unless you count the freeze pedal.

I got a guy off Reverb to build it for me which turned out to be a nightmare.

Saylor guitars can make you an unfinished unsanded body for around $125-150 I think. But MJT can do this exact shape in almost any color (BURGUNDY MIST) for around $375 and I believe that includes a Pickguard

My neck was from someone on ILF. Baritone scale. 27" I believe. My Pickguard was from Pickguardian and the pickups are BLK TRI. I got the control plate from Rock Rabbit. Overall this cost me around $700 and took me around 6 months. But I could have done it faster and cheaper if I had gone with different options. The body was the reason it took so long. There's a thread about it in the tech and projects forum.

If it weren't an otherwise crappy fucking weekend, i would have made more time with it, but thru an ampeg fridge it is loud and pretty. Need to fuck around with its EQ in a band context (after I clean up the garage) to get better acquainted, but I already love it from the few hours I have had with it. It breaks up pretty nicely for solid state, too, if that is your thing.

Probably my last buy for a little while, but I found my filter options rather lacking, and am getting this at a great used price. Going to have so much fun MS-20 action going on :joy:

I have no need to, but one day I hope to upgrade my 400RB to an 800RB. Those things are fucking gnarly. I'm starting to love my 400RB more than my Acoustic 370 nowadays. It has a great sound.

I said this elsewhere, bit after coveting an Acoustic 370 for years, my experience with it was pretty disappointing. It wasn't loud enough to be heard over two drummers... :picard: people have posited something was wrong with it, but i was bummed. DoS's wise words convinced me to get the 800rb instead of the 400rb. After two days, it is too early to say, bit I might be a GK convert. Sounds good, is loud, way lighter than any old amp I have had. I kinda want a 400rb on top of a 2x15 or something now, for absurd dooming.

Acoustic 370 not loud enough? That is absurd. I can't turn up my 370 above like 0 with fuzz, and even that shakes the walls. The 370 is the cleanest solid state amp I've played though, the 400RB definitely has some tone coloring, but I enjoy the punchiness along with mine.

You can't beat the weight of those GKs though, just stupid how light they are. I currently use a 400rb on top of 2x15, so I can tell you it will be plenty great and loud for dooming :thumb:
