Ha ha, he is one of my best mates and he really wanted to try them, my band are on a break at the moment on account of 3 of them having babies this year so he is borrowing them for a few months. I really need to get a Cioks Adam for that board though but been too lazy to buy one.

How do you use the Cluster Flux? I've never bothered checking it out because I also hate modulation/chorus/flange.

So this pedalboard was in my dream tonight. I was at some kind of small town festival and there was a coverband playing, although I didn't recognize any of the songs they played, I knew they were a cover band. They sounded nice though, I loved their sounds. While watching them I thought to myself: "people like that would be cool to start an Oceansize (my fave band) styled band with. And before I knew it they ended the set with a short snippet of an Oceansize song. I raised my hand in the air and sang along, obviously and the lead vocalist and guitarist saw it and acknowledged me in the crowd. I went up to talk to them afterwards. Once every one else had left I went to the stage and check out their gear and this was what the lead guy had been using. No wonder they sounded so good.

I've had a very productive morning...

I unbolted the power strip from my board, along with all the power adapters, leaving the board wide open. I then flipped it over and removed the center brace, so I could easily place the powerstrip wherever I needed. I carefully placed it in the spot where a gap would be between two strips of pedals on the top side:

Image

I was careful to make sure it missed the bolts sticking through the under side, and that the bolts for it were in a safe place on the top side...

Image

I then relocated the center support brace a few inches to the right to just miss the power strip:

I then routed the power cord for the strip out a hole in the side of the endcaps (it has removable panels).

Image

And now, look how much room has freed up on the top of the board for new pedals!!

Image

The key was the center brace. It was shallow enough that it forced the power strip to have to be pushed to the top of the board and preventing any strip of pedals from being installed there...but by moving the structural brace, and accepting the board is going to be a tiny bit less sturdy, I was able to push the power strip towards the shallow end of the board, and align it with the gap that occurs on the top side of the board.

Now I can fit everything I own, except the Pigtronix EP-1. Hopefully that includes the Meet Maude and Four Eyes that I just ordered last night in a fit of weakness.

He also looked for other knobs for my BitQuest when I bought it last year (one of the first UFO's). It's so smarter.

"Amp in a box"?
No, there's no amp in there - tone fairies and feedback goblins live inside this box.

Going to be tight, but if I leave the looper off, I think I can fit all of it.

Some beautiful pedalboards in here, remind me I need to get on building myself an isolated power supply.

What is in the superego loop and what are you using the 8Step on, highdeaf?

I don't have the board wired up yet, but I'm going to put long enough patch cords on it that I can be flexible.

The 8 step does double duty controlling the delay time on the echolution, and the frequency of Randy's Revenge depending on what I'm specifically doing at a given moment, so it will have a 3' TRS cable dangling out that can go to either spot.

In the superego's effects loop, I will sometimes run the F.13 flanger, Randy's Revenge, the tractor beam phaser, the arpanoid, and even the echolution, meteore, EHX Bi-Filter, or a dirt pedal, so that loops gotta be flexible. This is a big part of what attracted me to the temple modular board...the ability to easily switch around pedal locations.

My next experiment is to run the Superego with the arpanoid into the echolution on the effects loop...and with the 8 step program, slow down the delay time slightly on each repeat so I get descending arpeggios that then slow and lower in pitch on each repeat. Gotta set that 8 step carefully so it lands on a scale tone each time it slows down. I can then set the echolution to darken the tone of each repeat as well. If I get the rate knobs, decay speed, and tap tempos set right, I won't have to babysit it, and can them let it rain down its psychedelic wash in latch mode, while I solo over the top. Woop!!!

Nice, is that the Duo 34?

Been looking at getting one at some point and that looks to be the perfect size

Well.

Crap. That is an idea. Here I was just thinking swirly chorus in front of an octave up (clean or fuzz) and maybe something else for my superego loop.
