Again, that depends on the person. Y'all can get defensive about your expensive habits all you want, but that doesn't negate the snooze-fests that I have personally witnessed. Some people use that shit as a substitute for songs and ideas and shit, that's all.

"You have too much money and free time" is not much of an insult, I'll concede that...

Sure, but to piggyback on that again -- like, if this was four years ago we'd be talking about Doom in the same vein. "buy shitty modern day Orange and as many cabs as you can, tune low and just play Sweet Leaf slower and slower." It takes as much ability to do that as it does to piece together a modular and get it rolling to the point where you can be like "hey it's a song watch me check my iPhone while it plays to you."

Sure, because bad/lazy/unoriginal music sucks no matter what technology you use to make it. Modular fetishism is the current forefront of that, and ten years or so from now there will be a new thing.
I just don't see what's wrong with calling bullshit on bullshit! I can only call out one category of shit at a time or my fingers will get tired. If people get upset, well maybe they secretly know they are guilty...

Hahahaha. Yeah I agree, I think it was just the tone and specificity of the original bit that got some Jimmie's rustled.

Well it got the Martin Shkreli of fuzz pedals riled up so it was totally worth it.

I've seen shows of people twiddling pedals for 30 minutes to feedback, way too many of them for my own good. Most of them were goddamned awful, but then there were some that managed to coax an incredibly captivating atmosphere resulting in a performance that was enjoyable. Why I am bringing this example is because I see no fucking difference between a board full of pedals and a modular set up. We've all spent hundreds and hundreds on effects, some of them which we only end up using for that one 2 second sound in that one song we jacked out in 15 minutes. Don't blame the nail for the hammer's mistake, at the end of the day they are just tools. (and when tools use tools we are not getting anywhere...)

Depending on how it's used, I agree except that the user interface is different. A board full of pedals and a guy who just strums one note, sure.

Hey now speak for yourself, I won't have a pedal on my board unless I use it with significant effect in more than a couple of songs. I don't ride one-trick ponies.

Shouldn't you be buying exclusive rights to the new Kanye record or something?

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
this happened on wednesday..

it might have been the 3 hits of acid, but when I plugged this into my v4 for the first time I was BLOWN AWAYYyy. such a beautiful sounding instrument. feeling the vibrations through your body while playing is so fucking awesome.. should have gotten a bass way sooner! it's a shame it feels like it'll level my pad if I push it anywhere near 1 on the ampeg. playing this thing at loud volume is where it's at. but it kind of sounds like shit with my fuzzies.. sounds killer with the divine hammer and dirty doper at times, but it still gets a bit farty.. i'm probably doing something wrong. must try it with a mini/4x10 oh and bass through phaser + super long reverb + short delay time with long feedback = GLORIOUS~~
