Just made arrangements to pick up a Digitech Multi Chorus, Turbo Flange, and Death Metal for a good price. How many King Diamond songs should I play with this setup.

Cool! I always liked the graphic design of this EHX pedal.

Nice haul, UC!
Yahtzee! The chr1, yea! It's kind of an oddball in the looks department no doubt. Kind of grabbed it on a whim (Was waiting on a friend to get home, who lives by a pawn shop...walked out with my arms full
). I haven't really been able to use it much. I liked what I was getting for those 5 minutes or so though
Mode 2 does this kind of odd "flanger" sound, and of course there's the ol' dummy cable in the stereo out for vibrato. This was a nice sound, but the speed has to be at least at noon to do anything when used this way. As for the chorus itself, it sounds like a chorus
idk honestly the only other chorus I've had were two cs9's I modded, so I'm no expert. This video can give you a good idea...

I got an old Korg Chorus and Roland Spirit amp locally yesterday. Much happy.
What's the story with the Korg?
The CHR-1, right? How does it sound? I had the KORG KCH-301 for the awesome PME-40X system twice and I couldn't bond with it (the other modules are great, but the analog chorus is meh!). I prefer BOSS CE-2ish chorus. I think the CHR-1 looks very strange with that stereo output plug on the top. But if it sounds good I might buy one soon.

There is a patch bay pun In here, I am just too lazy to make it.
Thing is, my post punk band basically fell apart bc "guitarists, Amirite?" But I am making techno/trance/industrial shit with my partner and it rules using a super simple setup improvisationally, but it would be nice to add more synths so we can bring in different sounds and parts organically, and the tactile interfaces of modular really appeal to me in an aesthetic-improvisational sense. I will probably try to pick up other things first, but I have sort of convinced myself to sell my HOG and put all the money toward a Mother 32 or an Acid 8. (Bc I am a sucker for acid lines)

I can't really advice you on modular, as I've managed to keep that expense at bay myself, but making music with your significant other is the shit! We play piano and guitar together and sometimes it feels so sweet that it makes me a little nauseous. Sucks about your band, but moving from punk to electronic music is bound to spark some serious inspiration and leave you with a lot of useful experience no matter what you end up doing musically down the line. If you have a semi-fast computer you can probably get pretty far with just a MIDI controller and some neat plug-ins. Hell, there are even some good modular apps for tablets if you want to test the waters.

Sorry to offend any modular-heads here, but I fucking hate the trend. More expensive than the most expensive pedals, total rich hipster shit, bank account inversely proportionate to talent level, and after all the investment and hype, it's just a bunch of bleep-blop with an ironic moustache and trust fund. Of course that's not everyone who's into modular, but fuck at least be reasonably skilled on keyboards before you go down the synth rabbit hole.

None of that is modular exclusive re: musical instruments and gear.
If you think otherwise you can suck on my Dumble.

This, this, this. Considering how fucking much people slam into guitars and amps - and not even at the dumble level, tho ffs that shit - you could get a Mother 32 or 0-coast, any number of different fucking drum machines that sit at the $100 price point, a mackie 1202, some behringer monitors, a cheaper 4 track deck (or your computer if you already habe one), a midiverb ii and a whatever fucking delay, and start banging out some really awesome fucking techno/industrial/new age/horror soundtracks/fucking whatever. This is close to what I did, over years, bc no trust fund. I just want more synth voices so we can organically move between different parts in a live, sequenced context.
And the whole keyboard thing; I would argue against that. Synthesizers were largely cripple by being chained to keyboard interfaces, but hey we had to sell these machines that could play one note at a time to keyboard and organ players!

Except it has nothing to do with anything.
