KNOBS!

A Yamaha CS-15. It's like 2 monosynths stacked. One small problem, the gate doesn't seem to close. I hit one key and it drones on. The envelopes seem fine, but the drone is there in the background. Anyone have any experience with this?

It's flip-proof! If I get bored/frustrated/etc. I can just turn a knob and have a new effect!

I mean really, I don't need a lot of those effects all the time but I can't wait to have them available for when I get inspired. I can't tell you how many times I've been like "if only I had a ring mod here" or pitch shifter or whatever. This is gonna be good for me.

Sounds like the VCA calibration is off. You can open it up (or consult someone else if you don't feel confident in your tech skills) and there's probably a trim pot somewhere to bias the VCA that will fix your problem.

Thanks Bob! I'll look at that. I feel ok about my tech skills. I was planning on doing some mods to it and maybe switch out the volume pot if cleaning it doesn't work. There's a service manual online, I don't know how helpful it's going to be. I haven't found someone with a similar problem online yet. Hopefully, it'll be an easy fix.
