indeed

This custom made amp is a modern, top-shelf incarnation of the classic Danelectro-built Silvertone 1484 "Twin Twelve". These Silvertones have become increasingly popular with bands like Death Cab For Cutie and The White Stripes, for delivering a great 1960’s sound. Hand built by Jesse Quitslund in Tacoma, Washington.

Image
The latest addition to the ACME family, the Lulu was inspired by a circuit dating back to 1947. Like the ACME Varsity, it can deliver either 5 or 8 watts and has two output sections voiced "HOT" and "WARM". The innovative "FEEDBACK" control ranges from clean to dirty sounds, and combined with the volume control makes this perhaps the most versatile ACME of all.

This parallel single - ended head is capable of either 5 or 8 watt output. It features both 6L6 and 6BQ5 power tubes. Sporting a tone control that effects only bottom end, you can go from VOX like chime to a thicker, darker sound. It also allows the user to split the 2 different output tubes to 2 different speaker cabinets. Hand crafted in Tacoma, WA by Jesse Quitslund.

Yeah I almost bought a 1484 when I first found out about them. Awesome to hear the Acmeverbs are readily available. Didn't even check with him. Getting mine used for $600. Can't wait to get all this, the Binson, the spacecase and the Space Echo hooked into the new Patchulator 8000, mix it with some pedals and go to town on changing patching order!

hell yeah :joy: hope you're planning on filming some of that :poke:
the 1484 looks SO good and apparently its all over DCFC recordings, apparently Jesse is/was their guitar tech. I've been lookin at low watt heads lately so I'm probably going to get some more info about the Lulu and Varsity, those are both really tempting especially the Varsity.

Here's what the guy selling me his told me about the Acmeverb:

The blue unit is an ACMEverb built by Jesse Quitslund. Unless you live in the Northwest, you've probably never heard of him, but he is a bit legendary around here and has a long history as a tech for some of the biggest bands in the world. He currently is tech for Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Deathcab for Cutie (tho I think they recently split up). He's also a genius when it comes to gear and builds pretty exclusive gear for famous bands including some killer amps. He doesn't advertise, so he has remained a little golden nugget for us common folk. The ACMEverb is just the best verb I've ever owned. It is a tube driven with PTP NOS parts. He uses a NOS "FB" style reverb pan to achieve a deep verb that isn't "boingy". You can also overdrive the piss out of it as he uses a 1484 pre-amp. Very cool and unique verb that has huge bottom-end on tap. Jessie is a verb fanatic and the ACMEverb is his love child. I really want to get one of his amps one of these days too...

Another good pacific NW reverb to check out (more aimed at pro audio).

The Recovery Effects Endless Summer Deluxe. Dual spring tank true stereo reverb.

Read an article on Reverb about David Bowie and how he used a Stylophone back in the day. I was curious so i found the video below. Then i found out there are replicas on sale for about $26. I thought this would be great to have in the office so I can write leads and rhythms sitting at my desk or when melodies pop into my head to create skeletons of songs to use later by recording them on my iPhone. Plus it just seems like fun for $26. Also want to run it through a bunch of pedals and use it on actual recordings as well.

Never heard of those. Just looked it up. They look sorta fun but i have apps on my phone that sound better than that and about as easy to play. I like the stylus, vibrato and slide options with the stylophone and actually think it sounds pretty good and will sound really cool going through a bunch of mod pedals, delay and verb.... hell even dirt.
