So, going to start recording my bass tracks for iRerror next week (hopefully). Sat down and started picking out sounds I really need and pretty much ended up with the board I had when me and Eivind played our last gig.

Image

Chain is as always: bottom right to left -> top left to right.

The changes are:

Swapped the TAFM and the 141T because
A) the TAFM's textures cuts through and does wonders to the muffy 141T. Muffy 141T into TAFM can become too muddy and wholly.
B) less chance of my clumsy feet engaging the 141T and the TAFM at the same time

Added Hysteresis because its ringmod/bitcrushing/aliasing is a perfect match for the iRerror sound universe, plus great for rythmic tremolo beats from the Raptio's freeze function and from loops coming from the Digital Water

Swapped positions of AARP and Echo Degrader simply because the combo AARP->ED is jizzworthy.

Pretty psyched on it, even if it's really similar to my old setup. :joy:

Well it's not a finished board but I'm roughing it out. Looper and expression (for the BitQ) are needed next. I'd like a small exp and to have enough room for future gas on the board but not any more than two high.

Hey pals, a tip for imgur linking...you'll see something like this when you upload:
Image

The bottom highlighted "Linked BB Code" is what you want/will modify.
From:

Code: Select all

[url=http://imgur.com/wiuWAoy][img]http://i.imgur.com/wiuWAoy.jpg[/img][/url]

To:

Code: Select all

[url=http://i.imgur.com/wiuWAoy.jpg][img]http://i.imgur.com/wiuWAoyl.jpg[/img][/url]

This will display a large thumbnail image, with click-through direct linking to the original.
Step 1: Add "i." in front of imgur.com and ".jpg" after the randomly generated image name in the first part. (.png with a png file)
Step 2: Add an "l" (lowercase L) at the end of the randomly generated image name before the file extension, only in the 2nd part/direct link between the [img] tags.
So wiuWAoy.jpg[/tag][/tag] becomes wiuWAoyl.jpg[/tag][/tag]

The result when applied to Lew's photo:
Image
Clicking opens a new tab & you can zoom :hobbes:

S i c k setup btw :thumb: welcome to the board

Edit: Oh you've been here almost a year, derrrrrrrp

nice board Lew.

what are you thinking on the looper front?

I've just invested in a bigger looper...the ditto, although functional and a cheap way of getting into looping, proved to be way too limited.

I don't have a regular setup at the moment, as my regular band isn't gigging at the moment.
Planning to buy a proper pedalboard after my birthday, so right now I'm just putting together these small boards for various occasions.

Here is the pedalsteel pedalboard:

Image

Chain:
Smallest board:
Fargen Tumbleweed(compressor & clean boost)
Volume pedal
Aux-switch for Pitchfactor(made by Pladask Elektrisk)

Slightly bigger board:
Pitchfactor (pre)
ZVex Distortron
Basic Audio Scarab Deluxe
Pitchfactor (post)
RM-1n
RC-3
OGNOY/solo(ambient/noise/drones)https://ognoy.bandcamp.com/
Solstorm(doom/postmetal) https://solstormdoom.bandcamp.com/

The board pic compelled me to go and listen to some of the iRerror on Bandcamp. I liked it. Made me think of a version of Pink Floyd that's not shitty and boring. As a connoisseur (connoisseuse?) of these pedals, I often find myself thinking: "I know how they made that sound."

Thank you for checking it out! I'm glad you liked it, but I must confess that the upcoming album will be the first one me and my pedals will appear on. Eivind and myself have only played slightly "reimagined" versions of his previous compositions in live situations since I joined in this past summer (or so). But I've tried to keep it relatively close to his original sound for the most part. I hope you will check back in again when the new album drops and let us know what you think! I'm very excited to start laying down some lows on it. Although, I think it already sounds great without it. :joy:

He's given me complete freedom to mess about, so let's just hope I don't ruin it all. :p

Yea I'll probably go Ditto X2. I'd love to try an Infinity Looper but a tad pricey for me.

I do love me some Floyd, their early stuff have absolutely influenced iRerror. I still think some of the stuff I've recorded sounds to clean/ambient-y, though. Needs moar harsh noise! Build some walls, brah.

for a band that released an album called The Wall, they have way too little harsh noise jams and wailing bulldozing oscillatory hammers beating up their listeners

Before posting here, I went looking for an iRerror thread and didn't see one. You should rectify that. I feel like you guys might be the ILF house band. I want to hear all your worktapes and basement sessions.
