I have never seen Earthless or Elder despite my relative proximity to both. Fuck.

My gut feeling that pedal will be a disappointment.
I like to keep myself busy:

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
The thing about anything labeled "EVH 5150" is it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the Peavey amp tone. That amp was only called that because of the EVH endorsement/reference. The same amps still exist with the different name now and the new EVH 5150 amps don't necessarily sound anything alike. There could be a 5150 wah or a set of 5150 strings. Seems more likely it's a just an EVH endorsement/cash in on a pedal and not an emulation of that particular amp tone. Unless it's stated somewhere explicitly that I missed.

Thoughts?
Yes, it is ugly.
The dude who makes Dunn O))) effects apparently released the DE1984 a couple of weeks back, which is a 5150-in-a-box. He's been having a fucking heyday with letting MXR know he beat them to the market. Makes me want to check it out. Because dem chugz.

That seems like a pretty horrific oversight on your part.

im with you on this.
everything MXR puts out on the EVH banner seems to be a pedal in their line up with very minor tweak and EVH graphics. I'm sure its some MXR pedal that Eddie uses already and they are just re-boxing...in the end it's just a good opportunity to cash in for both MXR and Eddie.

I hope it's a rebranded Dime Distortion.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
The Dime is just a rehoused Doublehot I think.
T, I saw the DunnO, was very tempted. I was surprised we weren't talking about it here. But I'm guessing this thing will beat it price wise.
There are a few clips up on the YouTube, go search for em because I'm on mobile and couldn't be arsed.
But I would venture to say at this point it doesn't sound like total shit....I'm not gonna say it sounds like a 5150, but it sounds like it's at least a usable distortion pedal.
Other forums have pointed out that having the channel switch not on a foot switch is hassle and I don't disagree, but I kinda feel like this thing may be a good base to stack on.
I could give two fucks what Eddie does/doesn't use/put stupid tape on.
That motherfucker peaked on the first record.

Never bothered to look - it would just amuse me.
That DunnO looks pretty sweet - haven't bothered to check out any clips because any gear money I get in the near future (one of yall buy my Twosome!) will be going directly toward a Dunwich HM2.

Yeah there are some heavy contenders in the distortion world, right now.
I, for one, welcome this change.

A guy I've had some craigslist deals with in the past offered me one in trade. I declined but we worked out a different deal and I met him at his place and we talked about it. He wasn't crazy about it but I'm not sure what sort of tones he's chasing. I traded him my Beta Lead and while doing that I asked him if he was stage Melvins show that had just happened a few weeks back. He said he didn't like doom and said that he hated all of the riffs people played using the Beta distortion in YouTube.
Color me confused. He did end up getting a sweet emperor case for the Beta so that's dope.

I wonder if anyone would be talking about it if it was just called "Bill's Distortion Pedals" or something.

I personally dislike the name. Seems tacky and lame.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Just ordered a SD Black Winter bridge humbucker.
I waited a couple months before deciding this, in that time and a few emails sent, BLK/TRI still hasn't replied. I really wanted to support him, but I waited long enough.
Anyone use these and have any love for them? I've heard some great demos, I just want to know who likes them.
