Randomly found an original purple Sound Shank, mint, with everything, for $125 at the guitar shop I haunt. Instant purchase.

Nice!

My Driving Notion should be here today. I think. I won't be able to play it till Sunday but I'm excited to try it on guitar. I got rid of it before because it didn't play nice with my RM-1N but now I don't have an RM-1N and I miss that trashy clangy gated OD.

In love with the Sound Shank. Sounds magic with my Strat.

Out of love with getting a DD-500. I think a Dig or Brigadier is more my speed.

Score! :joy: I'm gonna have to get a Sound Shank again, I got an OG one direct from Jamie many moons ago and regretted selling it shortly thereafter...

I bought a Bit Commander from a glam rock dude. Was going to get an OC-2, but then changed my mind. Excited to try it out, should be here next week.

I went to a few music shops today and one of them had the new Yamaha Reface line playable and connected to a mixer/monitors. There was nothing I really wanted to check in their modular system nearby so I tried the two Reface (which is a stupid name) that seemed interesting to me : the CP (electric piano simulator) and the YC (combo organ) simulator. The CP sounded nice and has controls for several effects but it's not something I'd use but the YC actually sounded awesome. It has some overdrive and reverb with dedicated controls (well, everything has dedicated controls, no menu there), some chorus/vibrato, a rotary speaker simulator and drawbars for the harmonics you want. And a quintillion notes of polyphony. Well, 128 but as I'd need 4 or 5 it's the same for me :). Without any external effects I got some really nice melodic drony organ sounds, I can imagine this being great with dedicated overdrive and reverb pedals...

And these things are small, which is a huge plus for me. The YC could actually replace my old SK1 and do what I use the SK1 for but with much more options/controls... Sadly they're a bit overpriced but if I see one for a good price second-hand I might be tempted.

I'm surprised, I didn't expect to like this thing... :animal:

That's the one that seemed the coolest for droney stuff to me, too. Glad to hear it sounds awesome. I wonder if you could use a latching switch for the pedal input...

I mean, it sounded awesome for someone like me who like organ sounds and is used to the ones from the Casio SK1 :). I have no idea if the thing actually sounds like the Farfisa/etc./whatever they modeled it on (there are 5 types). By the way, these 5 types do sound quite different from each other (one of them has a sort of noisy sound that was quite cool) and I'm glad there are just 5 and not 50 of them. A thing like that with only direct controls benefits from having some restrictions in a way.

For the pedal, you should check the manual, what you can do is probably explained.

But yeah, I've been sort of looking for a while for something that could replace my trusty old SK1, which is mostly used for its 2 organ sounds and the flute sound, processed through some effects or the modular. The OP1 seemed like a good choice but it actually does too many things that I don't want and it's too expensive. I considered controlling stuff on an iPad with my quNexus but urgh, I need physical knobs and buttons. That one is probably the best candidate for my SK1 "upgrade" so far. I'm pretty sure I could do a whole live set with just that and my DD20...
