Haha. I completely understand. My kids weren't very old when I lost the ability to physically force them in all situations. I used to joke that I needed to start lifting weights just to wrestle my kids into carseats and shit.

Yeah, my injury has left me pretty weak. As a result my parenting skills have been reduced to negotiation and hollow threats.
Can't wait for medical approval to get fit again.

After posting that, I took my kids down the park. Its only across the road from us, so no big deal.
We get down there and, after asking my toilet training daughter if she needed to go before we went and her refusing, it was about 20 minutes befire she said she needed to go.
Alright, pack up your bikes and scooters, let's haul arse.
Get home: "No, I don't need to go, I want a bubble bar!" (kids' snack thing).

Thanks, kiddo.
Cheers.

I think we could easily fill up another 1200 pages with dumb things our kids have said and done. lol.

Most of them are super cute and sweet in hindsight (or from an outsider's perspective), but SO FRUSTRATING when you are the parent in charge.

Today is the first day we have left our three home alone together for more than an hour. I am fully expecting a call from at least one crying child, stating that their sibling is the worst person ever to live and that I *must* come home immediately.

Wish us luck!

She's been intensely negative the past few months and periodically we have to have a discussion about how much of a strain it is on our relationship, and each time she recognizes that it's a problem but doesn't seem ready/willing to really change anything. She's very depressed and I've been trying to get her to address her problems with her therapist or find a new one but she hasn't. Maybe it's too great of an expectation for me to put on a person. This sucks because I love her very much and I don't want the relationship to end, but I'm afraid it's taking a toll on my own mental health. I feel sick to my stomach about it.

that's exactly how my last relationship went. it's an unfair expectation for you to put up with your partner if they are not willing to take action to solve their problems, it seems like you've tried to help but realize that it's her responsibility to get herself together and not yours. only she can solve her personal struggles. it's wrong for someone else to make their problems your own, and it's not good to be in a relationship like that. it sucks that your relationship will end for that reason, but it would suck even more to continue into a dead end road. I am much happier without her now and I'm sure you could be too.

I should have listened to you, Chet.

The day I wrote this I tried to break up with her but allowed her to persuade me into giving her another chance. 6 weeks later, it's just as bad as ever. She's still being very negative and hostile and refusing to take responsibility for her behavior. I talked to her about a recent incident last night and all she had to say about it was that she was sorry I felt that way, then she talked about how she feels we don't do new things together (the responsibility of planning these things is 100% on me, by the way). I'm on my way to meet up with her for breakup attempt #2.

That's why I never got it in the first place. Nowadays, it seems that if you don't have one, you don't exist. It's impressive how fast some people forgot text messages and email.

ugh that sucks man. it seems to me like she's using your feelings as a distraction for her own problems/avoiding responsibility. she's not ready for a serious relationship with you.

No attempt. Just do. If you want to move on, move on. Unless there's something im missing, you dont really need her input in this situation.

hey, all the best, seriously. Having to leave a situation that can't be fixed is never fun, but you're already past the hardest part now.

I decided to make a spur of the moment order of one of the black on black Black Arts Toneworks Ritual Fuzz pedals but I forgot to check my PayPal address and I ordered it to my old address halfway across the country. I immediately emailed Black Arts, so hopefully it isn't a big deal. The good news is that it inspired me to clean up my PayPal and remove all the old addresses and cards. I still had my old house in KC, my old employer, my apartment in Alabama, and my dad's house up here in New York. It felt kind of cathartic to remove them all.
My force of habit, I am an insect
I have to confess I'm proud as hell of that fact

I was all stoked to play guitar for the first time in weeks if not months. I also got the latest version of FL Studio.... so I was stoked to see what new things they added.

First thing I discover: they seem to have taken away the ability to change time signatures with each pattern you create (something I heavily rely on). Why the fuck would you take away flexibility/functionality with a new version of your program? Now the song I was working on won't open in the previous version because I used it in the dumbassed new version.

Motivation to play has been replaced by frustration and anger.

It's so frustrating to have the tools you'd normally rely on not work. Not even "broken," but designed to be less intuitive....? Wtf.

So I watched Mad Max and now I've cleared my head up. I'll probably just use FL11 if 12 has some stupid function issues.
